About Us

KHI Design Group provides sophisticated interior design solutions while working closely with clients to create unique, personal spaces that are comfortable, beautiful and sensitive to their lives and personalities. The team is helmed by lead designer and owner, Leila Kharem. Leila inherited Karen Houghton Interiors after 15 years working directly with Karen Houghton.

KHI Design Group's studio is located in Nyack, NY where Leila and her team work on projects ranging in scope, from entire homes where they collaborate with architects and builders to facilitate the construction process, or smaller assignments such as updating a single room, or creating an exceptional window treatment.

Publications include NY Spaces, 201 Magazine, Fairfield Look, Westchester Home, and the Journal News. Television credits include an episode of HGTV's Property Brothers, as the design leads for a home renovation. KHI have also been participants in the Annual Red Cross Ball, as well as numerous NY & NJ Designer Showhouses.

KHI works extensively throughout the Tri-State area including NYC, Westchester & Rockland County NY, Fairfield County CT and Bergen County NJ.
